Doctrinal Statement
The Scriptures
We believe in the plenary verbal inspiration of the Bible and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
(II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21 and I Thess. 2:13)
The Godhead
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deut. 6:4 and Matt. 28:19)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin named Mary and is the God-Man.
(Matt. 1:18-25 and John 1:14)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person whose work is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. His relationship to the world is that of convicting of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. His relationship to the believer is that of regenerating, baptizing, sealing, indwelling and filling. (Titus 3:5; I Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 5:18 and John 16:8-11)
The Fall of Man
We believe that man is totally depraved. He is a sinner by nature as well as by choice and as such has incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Rom. 3:12 & 23; 5:12, 6:23)
Salvation by Grace
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and that all who receive the Lord Jesus experience the new birth through the Holy Spirit by becoming children of God. (Eph 2:8-9; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; John 3:3 and 5)
Baptism
We believe that water baptism is by immersion only and is for the purpose of our public identification with Jesus Christ. Only those who have received Jesus Christ by faith may be baptized. (Rom. 6:4-5; Acts 8:36-38 and Acts 2:41)
The Devil
We believe that Satan is real and personal. (I Peter 5:8-9; Job 1:6-12)
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, premillennial and imminent return of Jesus Christ.
(I Thess. 4:16-17; Zech. 14:4, 9; Acts 1:11; Jude 14-15)
The Headship of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. (Eph. 1:22-23; 4:15; 5:23; Col 1:18)
Sanctification
We believe practical sanctification is progressive. (Prov. 4:18; John 17:17)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ composed of all true believers in Jesus Christ. This body expresses itself in local assemblies of baptized believers. (I Cor. 12:13; Rev. 1:4)
Personal Holiness
We believe that believers are called to a holy walk separated unto God who called us out of darkness unto His marvelous light. (I Thess. 1:9; II Cor. 6:17-18; I Peter 2:9)
Marriage
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning and that marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between one man and one woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography, polygamy, or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church and the community, it is imperative that all members of the Church, all persons employed by the church in any capacity, and all who serve as volunteers, should abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of the church. Gen 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6; Rom. 1:24-29; 1 Cor. 6:13; Gal. 5:19-21; and Eph. 5:3
